Happy 2012!

Now that the holiday season has come to a close, it seems that the new year’s resolutions will soon invade our thoughts.  Have you started thinking about a new year’s resolution?  Do you hate the idea of a new year’s resolution?

I think they can be silly because a lot of people make lofty goals that are very unrealistic.  There’s no way you’re going to (safely) lose 25 pounds before February 1st and keep it off {sorry}. If you don’t exercise at all, don’t set a goal to exercise 5 days a week for an hour a day.  It’s most likely not going to happen.

I’m not saying this to discourage you; I’m just saying it to encourage you to make realistic goals.  I think it’s important to have goals, whether or not you make them on the first of the new year or on some random Tuesday in July.

So start today by setting realistic goals; it’s the best way to actually achieve your goals.

No idea where to start? For the month of January, in spirit of new year’s resolutions, I’ll be posting about a number of healthy, attainable goals and how you can actually meet these goals.
